Pulsatile Tinnitus – What is it? and What You Can Do About It
Pulsatile Tinnitus sufferers often describe the noise they experience in their ears as a rhythmic beat, much like a jack hammer keeping time, it is often in direct rhythm with the persons heart beat. The reason it beats or pulses in time with the heart is its through to most often be directly related to the vascular system and is often referred to as Vascular Tinnitus.
Pulsatile Tinnitus is much rarer than regular Tinnitus, accounting for only 3% of Tinnitus cases.
It is imperative that someone suspecting they have this form of tinnitus contact their medical health professional as the symptoms may be a sign that something is wrong with the vascular system, ie impaired blood flow, hyper tension, twisted and / or blocked arteries.
